The most common phrase that colonizers like to discredit about the cultural beliefs of ethnic minorities is' this is feudal, superstitous, regressive and inferior '. Very few colonizers support the promotion and development of the traditions, customs, cultures, beliefs and religions of ethnic minorities.

Their discriminatory mindset is that 'Anything I don't know/understand must be fake.' In fact, this world, this universe is large enough that humans simply cannot fully comprehend it, which is why preserving the traditional culture and religious beliefs of ethnic minorities is becoming more and more imperative.

The protection and prosperity of Ethnic minorities' cultures should be recognized as important and beneficial.

Here are some key reasons why this is the case:

Cultural Diversity and Richness:

Indigenous cultures are a "treasure trove of traditions, languages, and spirituality," representing a profound richness of human experience and national history. Preserving this diversity is essential for the adaptability and creativity of humanity as a whole.

Historical Justice and Equity:

Ethnic minorities' communities have faced centuries of injustice and repression, including attempts at cultural assimilation. Protecting and celebrating their heritage is vital to acknowledging this history, uplifting their culture, and promoting justice.

Guardians of Biodiversity and Sustainable Practices:

Indigenous Peoples often reside in areas of high biodiversity and have developed sustainable practices rooted in a deep understanding of their environment. Protecting their cultures and supporting their connection to the land is crucial for safeguarding biodiversity and developing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges like climate change.

Valuable Traditional Knowledge:

Ethnic minorities' communities possess valuable traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) that can inform contemporary efforts in conservation, sustainable resource management, and climate action.

Self-determination and Human Rights:

Protection of ethnic minorities' cultures is closely linked to their right to self-determination, which includes the right to develop their own cultures, languages, and knowledge systems.

Efforts to protect and support Indigenous cultures include:

Policy and Advocacy:

Advocating for policies that legally recognize and protect ethnic minorities' rights to their lands, resources, traditional knowledge, and self-determination.

Cultural Revitalization Initiatives:

Supporting language revitalization programs, cultural festivals, and the resurgence of traditional practices and knowledge.

Education and Awareness:

Educating non-Indigenous people about ethnic minorities' history, cultures, and issues, and promoting cultural understanding and reconciliation.

Repatriation of Cultural Items:

Advocating for the return historical and cultural relics of ethnic minorities.

Financial and Institutional Support:

Providing resources and support for Indigenous-led initiatives that promote economic development, self-governance, and cultural preservation.

In conclusion, protecting and promoting ethnic minorities' cultures is crucial for ensuring the well-being of Indigenous communities, conserving biodiversity, and fostering a more just and sustainable world for all.
