When You Say You Love

You say you love the rain, yet you reach for umbrella, afraid of getting wet, afraid of letting it touch.
You say you love the sun, yet you search for shadows, hiding from the warmth you once prayed would find you.
You say you love the wind, yet you shut your windows tight, fearing the vitality it might bring, the way it rearranges things.
If you carelessly read my words,
I would have known feelings misplaced,
Yet you froth and foam,
showing they strike reflective chord.
Do I mistake your eyes stealing glance as I pass?
Or breath from heart catching when I draw near?
Because love was never meant to be observed—
it was meant to be felt.
If you love the rain, let it soak your clothes, let it wash your worry, enjoy the fun.
If you love the sun, stand in its glory, let it shine away the coldness you carry inside.
If you love the wind, open every window, let the breeze to move your soul.
Because love was never an umbrella, never a hiding, never a closed window.
Love is the courage, even when it storms, scorches or brings changes.
Like the risk of Truth
and still say,
I am not afraid of Love!
